Or as the Japanese call it， “osuzumebachi，” which translates to sparrow bee. Though this massive bug may be fascinating to marvel at in pictures， It was a frightening sight for a woman in Japan who discovered one in her bedroom earlier this week. When she opened her closet to grab some clothes， there it was， crawling around on her green sweater. The giant Asian hornet isn’t exactly Godzilla， but it’s pretty big for a bug. An adult giant Asian hornet can grow up to two to three inches in length， with a wingspan of roughly three inches. And osuzumebachi isn’t just huge， it’s deadly. It’s said to be able to kill as many as 40 honey bees in one strike. And when it attacks humans， it can be straight up nasty. Its venom is so toxic， its sting can dissolve human tissue， sending victims into anaphylactic shock， which could then lead to a painful death. Luckily for the Japanese woman， she somehow managed to catch it and dispose of it safely. Reports indicate the hornet was also unharmed.
